Shihan Ian Knight started training under Soke Irie Yasuhiro in 2012 and attained his godan (5th degree black belt) in KoKoDo JuJutsu in 2018. Ian Knight also was recognized as Shihan that same year. Kowa Kan was recognized by Soke Irie Yasuhiro in 2021
Shihan Ian Knight has practiced multiple martial art forms during the last 40 years. He started his martial arts training in Judo and competed at the national level in The Netherlands. After moving to California in 2012 Shihan Ian Knight was introduced to KoKoDo JuJutsu by Shihan Derek Morris at the Hidden Dojo.
In addition to his ranking in KoKoDo JuJutsu, Shihan Ian Knight also holds rank in Kamishinryo, a JuJutsu style with Chinese/Korean roots and Nakamuraryo (traditional Japanese swordsmanship).
